POLICIES
PLEASE REVIEW ALL POLICIES BEFORE MAKING YOUR RESERVATION.
It is our goal that everyone who visits GrandView will have a wonderful camping experience and create many fond memories. To assure this, please review the policies below.
RESERVATION POLICY
Reservations may be made by phone or online. We prefer phone, to assure you reserve the site that will most meet your needs. Group and Tent reservations must be made by phone. A group reservation is considered 5 or more sites or cabins, or a combination of both. A minimum 50% deposit required on all reservations, with balance due prior to arrival date. No sites will be held without deposit or payment.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Cancellations made 14 days or more prior to scheduled arrival date will receive a full refund minus bank fees and reservation fee. Cancellations made 13 days or less before arrival date, your deposit will be forfeited, 3 days or less and all payments are forfeited. Under limited circumstances, at the discretion of the owner, we may be able to retain your deposit for a future stay during the same season the reservation was booked. No refunds will be given for shortened stays, inclement weather, or circumstances beyond our control. Holiday reservations are non-refundable.
GENERAL POLICIES
1. Overall, please be courteous to staff and considerate of all other campers. We want everyone to have a good time.
2. A campsite consists of one camper or tent and includes two adults and three children, under the age of 18.
3. According to Connecticut State Law, all campers, visitors and guests MUST be registered with the office, and vehicle and RV passes MUST be displayed at all times while inside the park. Visitors and guests will be subject to a day use charge. Please inform your visitors and guests of this policy. *Please see Visitor Policy at end of this document
4. CAMPFIRES must be closing down by 11 p.m. In anticipation of this, please do not add wood after 10:30 pm. Fires must be tended at all times and extinguished at night. Campfires are only allowed in designated fire pits. DEP requirements are that we do not allow outside firewood to be brought into the park. Firewood is available for purchase at the camp office. Fires are not to exceed a maximum of 3 feet. The cutting of any trees/vegetation is strictly prohibited. No trash is to be in the fire pit (cans, bottles, plastic, etc) at any time.
5. QUIET HOURS: 11PM to 8AM; These hours are strictly enforced. If you are entering the park after quiet hours, please be considerate of your neighbors and do not disturb. No excessive idling of engines is allowed in the park.
6. VEHICLES: One vehicle and one tow vehicle are allowed per site. Additional vehicles may be left in parking area determined by the park owner, at additional fee. Parking is not allowed on any roadways or in unoccupied sites. You are allowed a maximum of one RV and one tent, or two tents, per RV site with tent at additional fee. No more than 8 people may occupy one site.
7. TRASH & RECYCLING: Campers are responsible for disposal of their own trash. Please use the dumpsters for refuse, and recycle receptacles for recyclables. Both are located by the shed next to the office.
8 TREES: To protect our trees - nothing is to be tied, nailed or affixed to trees.
9. PETS: must be leashed at all times – no exceptions. You must clean up after your pet(s). Campers with pets that become a nuisance or are disturbing fellow campers due to continuous barking/noise will be asked to leave the park. Unhealthy, aggressive pets are not allowed. Be sure to bring vaccination records, or photo of it for your pet with you for check-in. No pets allowed in cabins, office, pool area or other buildings.
10. SPEED LIMIT: Everywhere within the park the speed limit is 5 MPH and is strictly enforced.
11. WASTE WATER & SEWER: No waste water is to be drained onto the ground – this is a Connecticut state law. Dump station is available. Honey Wagon pump-out available for a fee. Please order pump-out service early. Anyone found dumping to the ground will be asked to leave, without refunds.
12. CHILDREN: Children 17 and younger must be on their site by 10 pm, unless supervised by someone over the age of 21. Parents will at all times be fully responsible for the conduct of their children and any visitor’s children while on park property. Parents will be held responsible for any destruction or damage done to park property by their children. Children 17 and under may not be left in the park unattended. Children under the age of 6 may not leave their site, unless they are supervised by an appropriate adult guardian. Children may not run through other occupied sites. Children may not operate any type of motorized bike/scooter/vehicle
13. CHECK-IN & CHECK-OUT: Check-out time is 12 noon. Check-in time is from 2pm to 6pm. Please call the office to arrange for any exception if necessary. Note: There is a $25 late arrival fee after 8pm. When checking out, your site, or cottage is to be left in the same condition you found it. Do not leave trash in the fire ring. A fee of up to $50 will be charged for infractions.
14. MOTORCYCLES are allowed in the park only when riding directly to and from site. All bikes, scooters, etc. must be back at your site by dusk. Any child under the age of 16 must wear a helmet while biking at all times while in the park per Connecticut State Law. No electric or gas scooters are allowed. No motorized vehicles such as dune buggies or 4 wheelers or golf carts are allowed to be driven in the park.
15. POOL: There are no lifeguards on duty at the pool. Parents and/or adult guardian are required to supervise their children when at the pool. You are required to read and abide by rules posted on pool gates. Pool is open from 9 a.m. to dusk, and closed during inclement weather. All children 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult at least 18 years old.
16. Excessive use of alcoholic beverages is not tolerated and such can result in immediate removable from the park. Kegs are not allowed.
17. No Fireworks, Firearms of any kind weapon is allowed on premises.
18. No refunds due to weather or circumstances that are out of our control.
19. You must be over the age of 21 to rent a campsite or cottage. Anyone that chooses not to adhere to these policies may be required to leave the park, with no refund. Any exceptions to these policies are at the discretion of the owner.
VISITOR POLICY
GrandView is a small campground, so the number of visitors we can accommodate at any one time must reflect that to assure we do not become overcrowded. Please review the visitor policies below: Total campsite occupancy, including visitors, is limited to 8 people. Number of visitors allowed daily will be based on total campground occupancy. Please check with the office to assure there is visitor availability, and register visitors with payment for them For holiday weekends, we are not able to accommodate visitors.
Visitors must be pre-registered and paid by camper, and check in at the office to obtain a car pass which must be visible at all times. Camper is to meet visitor at office unless other arrangement has been made. Visitor Fee: $8.00 for adults, and $5.00 for children under 12, Overnight guests is $12. Visitors are not allowed to bring other visitors or pets.
Pet Policies
Pets must be leashed at all times – no exceptions. You must clean up after your pet(s). Campers with pets that become a nuisance or are disturbing fellow campers due to continuous barking/noise will be asked to leave the park. Unhealthy, aggressive pets are not allowed. Be sure to bring vaccination records, or photo of it for your pet with you for check-in. No pets allowed in cabins, office, pool area or other buildings. PETS are not allowed to be left in unatteded vehicles. Guests staying in cabins may not leave there pet in vehicles or in crates on porches. No unattended pets are allowed outside (cabins, RV sites, tent sites)
